DRAWING THE INTERIOR
Course outline:
How do we perceive and convey interior space in drawing? This workshop seeks to explore the room in drawing: from recording the space around us to the paraphernalia of a domestic setting. We will take in a wider angle of vision than we are perhaps used to, instilling confidence and knowledge to draw larger spaces afterwards, such as a landscape or a streetscape. The exercises we will do endeavour to deepen our understanding of drawing: of assessing relationships between ourselves and the space we are in, and those between objects and the room they inhabit. Hopefully we shall establish a strong sense of the interior in exploratory working drawings which some may wish to go on to use at a later date to make paintings.
